Unlike gigantic, out-of-state corporations that claim to be the “neighborhood” drugstore, the connections between Kaye’s and the surrounding community are unmistakable. Just as Meriden helps Kaye’s to thrive, Sam and his staff hold the deep belief that meaningful community contributions should be among their main concerns. Nearly all of Kaye’s staff members were raised in and/or currently live in Meriden. In fact, Kaye’s has provided decades of Meriden’s high school students with their first jobs. Moreover, the support of other local businesses is a priority. To foster growth within the community, Kaye’s has made financial contributions to a myriad of organizations and causes, including the new YMCA facilities, MidState Medical Center, the University of Connecticut, the Meriden Boys Club, the United Way, countless service and educational groups, religious organizations, and sports teams. Kaye’s staff actively participates in the community as well. Our pharmacists have spoken at schools promoting pharmacy as a career and have addressed civic groups on timely issues and concerns such as highlighting changes in Medicaid. For these reasons, Sam and his staff feel that Kaye’s is Meriden’s real neighborhood drugstore.
